We are a military couple with a 2 year old. No parties, music, etc... we're typically really quiet. We were harassed by our neighbor constantly for months. She would call security on us between 6-8pm for our crying toddler. The last straw was when that neighbor tried to open our door and enter our home!! We ended up calling the police, as that's illegal. In total, we had about 4 or 5 visits from security, and we told the rental agents about each and every time she called. The most they would say is that they had to give her enough warnings before anything could be done. My husband was about to deploy, and I didn't feel safe with Karen next door, so we moved to base.
Andorra sends us a $900 bill AFTER taking our $400 deposit. The pictures of the apartment they sent are pristine. They didn't show up for the final walk through, and at pre-inspection prior to move-out... the maintenance guy said everything was great. So we were beyond surprised when they had already moved new tenants in, but we had a bill for $900 extreme damages. I wrote them back to ask what in the *bleep*?! They never wrote back, so I thought they dropped it. We just got a creditor letter in the mail. This is 10 MONTHS after we left. See you in court, Andorra!
DO NOT MOVE HERE!! It looks like they're charging everyone outrageous fees for move out, check the previous reviews.
DO NOT RENT HERE!!
BEWARE- OUTLANDISH MOVE-OUT COSTS
Maintenance team said our place was in excellent condition and thanked us yet we receive a bill for $670 on top of them using our entire $400 deposit (standard cleaning $165, carpet cleaning $295, painting $750). The place was in great condition upon move-out and we have pics to prove it.
This was a great place when we first moved in but in less than a year the complex was sold to another company and quickly went downhill. It used to be owned by Brookfield Properties but is now MG Properties. STAY AWAY FROM HERE AT ALL COSTS. First, they required us to put in a 60-day notice to move out, which we have found out is illegal in the state of California. Even though we never planned on staying another year, the renewal notice stated that rent would increase 7.9% and that percentage was for a 15 month lease. When we had our preliminary 2-week move out inspection they told us this is one of the cleanest units they’ve ever seen BUT said we would be responsible for standard cleaning fee, carpet cleaning, and painting. We tried to get in touch with the manager to see what these costs were going to look like but Darlene never reached out.
Also, good luck trying to get ahold of the office because they never answer the phone for tenants. They are constantly understaffed despite the company just buying the property. Everyone in the office is incompetent. They even only have 3 maintenance people for over 400 units, which is absolutely insane.
Other issues:
They have serious sewage issues- every week the toilet’s water will go out of the toilet and a strong sewage smell will seep out for hours. They claim this is from ongoing nearby construction but that’s really no excuse for it going on this long. And now even MG properties requires tenants to have sewage insurance added on to tenants renters insurance.. so they are well aware of a bigger sewage issue.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND FROM ANY PROPERTY OWNED BY MG PROPERTIES
Honestly AVOID this place like the plague.
The management are disgusting people. Rude, vile and lazy.
They don't answer their phone. Then when you walk to the office and see them sitting at their desk, so you call from outside, they get up and walk into the restroom.
The Maintenance Manager is a lying piece of garbage. He doesn't do what he's supposed to and lies through his teeth.
The place is dirty and disgusting. The tap in the men's rest room has not worked for over two years. The womens has had no lighting for the best part of a year. There is dogs mess all over the place including the stair wells.
The pathways are never cleaned and nor are the stairwells (see pics). I started taking pictures of the stairwells back in August. It has still not been cleaned 4 months on.
The pool is constantly getting closed for maintenance and when it is open, is always cold.
Please do yourself a favor, and look at the apartments around the corner by the name of "Amelia" - they are far superior and marginally cheaper too.
There are two people worthy of praise; Carlos & Mario. They are great hardworking members of staff.
Add to that, they apparently charge you for painting the apartment and putting in new carpets regardless of the condition. This is unlawful in the state of California - so, we'll undoubtedly look forward to this as we move out next month. I do love a good court battle so we'll see how this pans out.
I lived at Andorra from August 2022 to April 2023. The apartments and amenities are nice. Everything feels new and is well maintained. Having a garage space included was also a nice bonus.
My three-star review reflects my experience with management. In a sentence, it felt adversarial and unprofessional from the moment I finished signing my lease until the day I moved out. I was relocating from another state to Camarillo for work. After signing my lease a member of the property management team called to tell me my apartment wouldn't be available for a few weeks after the date we agreed on. We fixed this, but it was a serious headache for me I was displeased that they pushed off their problems with poor property management onto me, the new renter.
After I had been in the apartment a while we were notified the faucets in the bathrooms had to be replaced because they were too short and were leaking water everywhere. This was apparently a problem in many units. During the process of replacing faucets they lost track of which apartments had been fixed and which hadn't so they sent an email to everyone asking us to report whether the faucets had been replaced and threatened that "Failure to respond by 8/25/22 will result in a $500 charge for rescheduling and installation." If you want to live in place where management persistently lobs authoritarian emails at you then Andorra is a place to call home.
Overall, the property is nice, rental rates are competitive, and the maintenance crew is excellent. If you can let the managerial hubris roll off your back, Andorra Apartments is okay.
Moises was incredibly helpful and open about everything from estimated pricing to the expected timeline. We were sent all the information quickly and Moises made everything easy to understand. His availability and kindness throughout the whole application process was a great first impression of Andorra Apartments.
We moved here 2 years ago and since we’ve been hear we have had problems from the start, the stairs cracked, front door light broken, tree is falling all over my house, washer and dryer broken, windows are loose so they don’t stay closed, …
Edited: was a 5-star rating. Bringing it down to a 2-star.
We moved in June '19 it was great living there when we first got there. Then management changed 2 different times (so we had 3 different owners living there) and it just went downhill. All the low star ratings are true. They will raise your rent to the highest legal amount they can for lease renewals. We had an emergency maintenance call during the middle of the night. I left a voicemail, and they called me back but didn't get a hold of me cause I fell asleep waiting for their call back. They didn't try calling again and I had to call them in the afternoon to resolve the issue. They also never enforced the rules charging 50 bucks per vehicle to park and 25 bucks for a yearly parking permit. The maintenance staff was always nice and efficient. Getting a hold of the leasing office was a pain
I lived there for 4 years (2019). It was AMAZING when Fairfied was managing the property. Why? Because their focus was to make tenants happy community was important, we had monthly community events, staff was awesome and the grounds looked …
